Vista Start Menu is the convenient alternative to the plain Start menu you find in Windows XP and Windows Vista. The program uses your cognitive abilities (visual memory, reflexes, etc.); however, while it is easily understandable for beginners, it is also highly efficient for experienced users. Learn more >>
Go ahead and try replacing your Start menu right now! It is safe because Vista Start Menu does not change your system settings, thus making it easy to install, as well as simple to remove.
The following full-length review applies to version 3.0
Vista Start Menu, is a small application that allows you to quickly access your programs and shortcuts on the start menu in an intuitive way, most of its features are based on the development that Microsoft put in Windows Vista interface.
The program doesn’t replace Windows XP start menu at all, it just hide it and display its own menu, and you can disable it using the taskbar to kill the process. It was released on two versions, the basic one with core functionalities mentioned above, which is free and a " pro " version that adds the ability to uninstall (not just remove the shortcut as a normal menu does) any application within the menu, just selection the option from a menu that appears after a right click on the program folder.
It’s easy installation and extra options are very good features, while for some users, including me, its interface isn´t as eye candy as the original vista offers; plus there are some other free utilities that offer a better visual experience, for example vista start menu emulator, among others. |
